The Polikarpov Po-2 is the most built biplane in the world because more than 40 000 aircraft were built from 1927 until 1960. The plane was designed by Polikarpov as an training aircraft in 1927. The type of the plane originally was U-2 (U means training in Russian) but after the death of Polikarpov the was changed to Po-2 after the designer. The HA-PAO was built in Polnad in 1954 and was used in Hungary since that time as an agricultural aircraft. Later on she was ordered to fly for the Hungarian Paramilitary Scout Assosiation as a towing aircraft but was ordered to destroy and fine in 1968. Two brave Hungarian sport pilot disassembled and stored the aircraft in a secret place and saved. The airplane became airworthy again in 1984 and since that time the Po-2 is one of the most popular participants of all airs shows and aviation events.
