Some pilots didn't finished the task

We already have final approaches. However, some pilots aborted the task and had to come back without a time score. A look at the score will clarify the situation afterwards.

Welcome to the 54th International Hahnweide Competition
Friday, 20. May 2022 - 23:32

After a two year break, the time has finally arrived again! 105 teams from 13 countries have arrived to participate in this very popular international gliding.

About 2/3 of the participants came from overseas. This year again we have several European and World Champion pilots. The event will be flown in 5 competition classes. The 18m class is the most represented with 37 gliders.

Probably the biggest surprise of this evening: This year the Hahnweide has for the first time a female competition director!

Laura

Laura Maciej, who has been for many years in charge of the organization of the competition behind the scenes, takes over from Reinhard Diez. Together with sport director Rainer Rauch and meteorologist Jupp (Dr. Josef Dahlem) they are at the top of the organization.

The briefing for the 1st competition day will take place tomorrow at 10 a.m.

We wish all participants and crews a good start and an fantastic week with best weather conditions.

Some pictures of the evening HERE.

  • Gridding after the briefing
  • Wednesday and Thursday park the trailers in the area of the western hall. From Thursday evening the trailer parking area in the south will be available.
