Simple, reliable yet elegant with a Interior designed by the famous designer Raymond Loewy and flight controls made of rod’s and Ball bearings guaranteed a pleasant flight experience. The Windown windows make a unique feature too.
“Build for comfort, not for speed” this Airplane makes for many pleasant aviation hours.
Early models where equipped with a 7 cylinder Warner Super Scarab engine, later models came equipped by a Fairchild’s own developed 6 cylinder inline engine of the “Ranger” type.
Our Fa24G model was N19146 was Build in Hagerstown 1937, initially sold to Mr. Tredway for charter and Flying lessons at Oakland California and still is in original spec and condition.
Through and After the war she stayed a private plane in hands of several Owners. Eventually to the “Colonial Flying Corps Museum” In Toughkenamon, Pennsylvania before moving to the Netherlands between 2006 and 2010.
Currently based at Hilversum airport (EHHV) and owned by a group of owners “The Flying Basterds” Mainly for the purpose of enjoying the best hours of flying General aviation has to offer
