Description: Lockheed L-12-A Electra Junior N14999 The Lockheed L12 Electra Junior (often known as the “Twelve”) is a twin- engine eight-seat corporate travel aircraft, the first aircraft entirely designed by aviation genius Kelly Johnson in 1935 and produced by the US-American manufacturer Lockheed Corporation. The Lockheed 12 is a scaled down development of the Lockheed Electra 10-A. Amelia Aerhart and navigator fred Noonan disappeared on July 2, 1937 with this plane (10A) in the Pacific Ocean on route to Howland Island from Lae, New Guinea. The serial number of this aircraft is 1252. Crew: two, pilot and co-pilot Capacity: six passengers. This Lockheed was delivered to Conoco Oil Company in December of 1938 and flown there by a famous Lockheed test pilot Milo T. Burcham. After WW2 it was flown by a series of unexciting corporations until abandoned in 1976. It was donated to a glider museum in Texas. Pat Donovan tracked this aircraft down and purchased it in 1989 and it was a long road to restore her to original spec. NC14999 is owned by Luc Hellings since 2018 and is based in Genk-Zwartberg EBZW Belgium.
