Lisunov Li–2 the Soviet version of the legendary American DC-3 or C-47. More than 5300 were built in the former Sovier Union between 1937-1953. The Hungarian Li–2 is the only airworthy in the World. The HA–LIX was built in Taskent, Uzbeghistan in 1949 since that time she is in Hungary. First served in the Army until 1958. Then moved to Malev Hungarian Airlines and in 1964 went back to the Army where retired in 1974.The Golditmer Foundation started to rebuild her in 1997 and finished in 2001. The second maiden flight were held in 21 September 2001. Since that time she is the star of the international air shows. The owner of the plane is the Hungarian State and property of the Institute and Museum of Military History of the Ministry of Defense.
