This rare and historical Ryan ST3 PT22 aircraft was delivered to theU.S. Army Air Corps in 1942. Originally powered with a Kinner model R540 radial engine, in the interest of safety and performance a 200 HP Ranger 6-440 inverted inline engine with hand operated crank starter and a Aeromatic Propeller was installed.The installation was FAA approved with an STC number SA2200WE. An additional 9 gallon aux tank was also installed. A number of awards, including first place at Oshkosh were issued.
