Here is a photo from today's briefing.

All competitors are in good mood and full of high expectations. The weather conditions are supposed to be good with cloud base forecast above 2000 metres in the afternoon. Here is the hand-painted forecast picture from our meteorologist Dr Josef Dahlem (Jupp).

The competition organisers have chosen a very interesting task for the end of the competition: In all classes we will fly an AAT. The minimum flight time for all classes will be 4 hours.

Here is the task of the day for the Open Class:

 The average distance of the Open Class is about 480km/h. The maximum possible distance using all turning circles is 645km.

 The exact tasks of the individual classes are here HERE.

Since the pilots can choose their own flight path within defined limits and will therefore fly different route lengths, it will remain exciting until the end. The winner of each class will be the one with the highest average speed.

The start time will remain at 11.15 am. If the thermal conditions are suitable, there will be a very early launch for all classes.

Good morning dear participants and spectators of the 54th International Hahnweide Competition. Today will be our last competition day.

The weather seems promising, so all classes will be allowed to start. The gridding has already started. As usually runway 31 is in use.

Today's grid order:

• 15m class (in front)
• Standard Class
• 18m class
• Double seater
• Open class

The pilots' briefing will take place at 10 a.m. @ Wolf-Hirth hangar.

The first launch will be expected as early as 11.15 am. There is a good chance that the launches will start before lunch today.

The 2nd briefing for the standard class has just taken place.
Meteorologist Jupp predicted no stable competition conditions due to the rather strong high altitude wind and the rather moderate thermals, which are increasingly affected by high cloud fields.

Even though the sun is just making a brief appearance here, the competition management has decided to cancel today for all classes.

Those who still want to fly may do so now.
We wish all other pilots a pleasant day.

For today there will be only a very small weather window - if at all. Only the pilots of the standard class can hope for another day of competition. All other classes have a rest day. Those who wish may still take to the air.
