The weather conditions improve as predicted. The wind is blowing quite strongly from the west.

The 18m class and the doubles may start today. The 1st start is not expected before 13:30. Better weather conditions are forecast for the afternoon with max. claoude base between 1700 and 2000m.

However, the thermally usable zone is limited to the western competition area.

There is a small change for pilots today:

The maximum allowed departure altitude will be announced 10 minutes before the start line opens on the competition frequency. Normally it is written on the task sheet in the morning. This action is taken by the competition organizers for safety reasons, to avoid pilots flying too close below the cloud base before take-off.

The pilots of the Standard, 15 Meter and Open Class we wish a relaxing rest day.

Briefing expected at 10 a.m. No gridding before the briefing. We hope to have a competition day for the 18m and double seater classes.

At the moment it looks like the predicted hail just missed us. The predicted size of up to 1.2 inches is quite accurate by the way....

We are expecting squalls and hail up to 3cm in diameter!

After a short, but heavy rain shower this morning, the air is wonderfully fresh and clean. Here at the airfield, everything is still half asleep.

Briefing takes place - as always - at 10 o'clock. There is no takeoff setup before that.
