pre-registration and puzzles
Dear friends of the Oldtimer meeting at Hahnweide,
 
black week is underway, we want to bring some color into it.
 
First of all, we have just opened pre-registration for all pilots. Please register without obligation if you want to visit us by plane. We will then get back to you. But please be patient until we respond. It should take a maximum of 2 weeks.
 
Secondly, it's time for one of our traditional puzzles again!
 
Long-time OTTers already know that it's about guessing a new participant. It's usually the case that you'll figure it out straight away anyway. That's why we've made an effort to make it not too easy ;-).
 
Important: Please write the answer in our guest book and please explain the answer. Just guessing and writing in any plane is of course not allowed!

9 years ago today, the unimaginable happened. Remembering Marc "Léon" Mathis.
 
Exactly 9 years ago today, Marc "Léon" Mathis had a fatal accident during a test flight with the prototype of the HKW-Aero ultralight aircraft near Strasbourg.
 
Marc was always a great supporter of the vintage aircraft meeting at Hahnweide. His flying skills and his humor are legendary.
 
We remember him today with this video from 2009, where he flew the Flugwerk FW 190.

Richard Grace of Air Leasing passed away
 
The warbird community mourns the untimely death of Richard Grace, Manager and Chief Engineer of Air Leasing Ltd. at Sywell Aerodrome. Richard died on October 15th at the age of 40 from a long-term illness. At OTT19 he flew the Buchon in a great display together with the P-47.
 
Our condolences go out to his family and friends.

We are looking forward to Wilhelm with the Louisiana Kid
and with a bit of luck our supporters will fly with the Mustang!

Our fellow pilot Wilhelm Heinz from Degerfeld will be at the OTT25 again with his P-51D Mustang "Louisiana Kid"!

And now a note for our supporters: First of all, thank you all very much for your great support! That motivates us to give everything we have to offer you a great OTT25. But of course we also want to give something back and we thought it would be somehow cooler to fly in or out of Hahnweide in a Mustang. So the plan is that around 3 weeks before the start of the event we will raffle off two of the supporters who will fly from Degerfeld with Wilhelm in the Mustang to Hahnweide or fly back at the end of the event. Of course we will fly the winners from Hahnweide to Degerfeld beforehand or pick you up from Degerfeld. However, you will have to make do with our Husky or DA40. If things go really badly, it could also be the Mose (after all, it is also a MeG109 ;-).

Who is coming to OTT25

 

Less than a year separates us from OTT 2025! And what can we say? The response was tremendous and the support we received in all ways is really impressive!

 
We would like to say a big thank you for that, you are really great!
 
Many of you are already eagerly waiting for the list of participants! But the experts know that the official registration of pilots traditionally only begins at the end of the year. So you still need a little patience (:
 
But we won't be idle until then, of course! Lots of discussions are already underway and to give you a little spoiler - there are already some tasty treats in store for 2025 that will make our mouths water!
 
A little (big) greeting from our kitchen in advance:
 
Georg Raab, who can undoubtedly be described as a veteran of the vintage car meeting and has always conjured up wonderful aerobatics over the Hahnweide with his beautiful Boeing Stearman, will be there again!
 
With a Steaman? Yes, of course! We love biplanes!
 
But anyone who has taken a look at him in Siegerland over the last few years will know that a lot has happened there. The aircraft collection of his "Flying Legends" now includes some heavy metal, which we can "get our hands on" for next year!
 
 
We are really delighted to show you Georg's P-51 Mustang "Frances Dell" as well as to announce his "Chance-Vought F4U-5NL Corsair".
