Thank you very much!

Dear visitors, participants, friends and supporters of OTT25,

The Oldtimer Meeting 2025 at Hahnweide has come to a successful close – despite changeable weather, and fortunately without any major incidents.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined us for this special weekend. Your enthusiasm, support, and passion make this event unforgettable year after year. At the same time, we apologize to those whose expectations we were not fully able to meet this time.

Due to the enormous number of visitors combined with the weather, the journey to the airfield was at times quite challenging. We are truly sorry for this. Nevertheless, we managed to tow out all vehicles that had become stuck in the muddy ground, and we hope that everyone made it home safely – whether by car or by airplane.

We are especially grateful for the many kind messages we have already received via email and in our guestbook. Constructive criticism is also welcome – it helps us improve the Oldtimer Meeting for the future.

At the moment, we are still in the middle of dismantling and, truth be told, a bit exhausted. That’s why we kindly ask for some patience until our traditional, detailed closing report is published in the coming days.

Once again, thank you so much – without you, this celebration of vintage aviation would not be possible.

With best regards,
Your Fliegergruppe Wolf-Hirth

14 days left

Hello dear friends of Hahnweide,

Just 14 days until the 20th Vintage Airshow begins. The list of participants continues to grow. Today, an aircraft has been added that has never landed at Hahnweide before: the Spartan 7W Executive – a very beautiful classic.

Also, a note to all registered pilots: You should have received all your approach information by email by now. If you haven't received it yet, please check your spam folder or contact us directly.

Four more weeks...

Dear Friends of Hahnweide,

We're unfortunately extremely busy at the moment, and maintaining the website is taking a bit of a backseat. Therefore, here's a brief summary of what's happening now, four weeks before OTT25:

1. We're pleased to announce that Ralf and Nico Niebergall will be joining us at OTT25 and will be showing us their show.

2. We'd like to thank our supporters once again! You're truly amazing – please pick up your bags at our Wolf Hirth booth at OTT25, you really deserve it!

Supporter registration closes on August 22, 2025. After that time, it will no longer be possible to become a supporter. The reason for this is that we need all our manpower for the final stretch and also have to prepare the raffle.

We will broadcast this on YouTube at the beginning of September – the exact date and time will follow.

By the way: Not only can you fly in Albstadt's Mustang, but you can also fly with Guido Voss in a T-28! You couldn't arrive or depart in more style. There are also other raffles, for example:

Lilienthal's book "Bird Flight as the Basis of the Art of Flying" – our "bible."

Lilienthal model kit – an in-house creation of the museum.

Lilienthal Quartet as a little gimmick.

A copy of Prof. Steinle's latest publication "From Flying Apparatus to Airplane!" – many thanks to the Otto Lilienthal Museum!
We will also be giving away a few access tickets to the flight line with refreshments.

3. The app has been updated with safety instructions and a map showing parking.

4. The majority of pilots/participants have already received their approach information.

5. The bus shuttle stops and operating hours are now also online.

6. Pre-registration for participants will also close on August 22nd.

Please keep your fingers crossed for good weather!

Best regards,
Your Wolf Hirth Flying Group
and all the helpers

Otto Lilienthal Museum at OTT25

We are delighted to offer our visitors a very special opportunity this year.
Many thanks to Festo and AIrstage for making this possible.

The Otto Lilienthal Museum in Anklam presents the aviation pioneer, mechanical engineer, and humanist Otto Lilienthal in the context of his time and as a companion at the turning point from the cultural history of human flight to the technical history of the aircraft.
With the development of the IKAREUM Lilienthal Flight Museum, the Hanseatic City of Anklam aims to create a worthy memorial to its greatest son in the coming years – one that does justice to Lilienthal's international significance – in his baptismal church as the "Cathedral of Aviation."
From September 12-14, 2025, the museum will present its vision of IKAREUM as Anklam's new center and provide insights into its current research projects and technical education programs.

The Bundeswehr with a tape measure on the Hahnweide?

Anyone following our news will have noticed that the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr) has announced that they are deploying a CH53. And anyone familiar with helicopters will know that this isn't exactly the smallest of aircraft.
This presents some challenges. It has to land on Thursday, because if there are already too many aircraft at the airfield, the risk of confusing them would be too great. It can't take off again until Monday. This doesn't bother the crew. She's already looking forward to the OTT and will gladly pack two extra pairs of socks for the extra nights with us (:
The monster will be parked lengthwise along the flight line. With a rotor diameter of 22m, about 9 to 10m of the rotor circle extends over the spectator area. You could walk underneath it, but you can't drive underneath it (e.g., emergency vehicles). So the area needs to be fenced off accordingly. To determine the position and procedure, the guys visited us, and we measured everything together. Now we have to adjust our fence line accordingly and record it on the site plans.
This type of helicopter has been in service with the German Armed Forces for 50 years. That's a long time. So a visit to us is long overdue (:
