At 13:55 the start line for the open class is also opened. Most of the pilots in the other classes have already left.

You can follow the individual classes live HERE. Alternatively, we will have a live tracking on the monitor in our aircraft hangar with delicious food and cool drinks to follow along.

The pilots of the 18m class are already on the 2nd leg between the Swabian Alb and the Black Forest.

Dear participants and spectators of the 55th International Hahnweideweide Competition. Come and join us at the Hanger of the Wolfh Hirth Flying Group.

We have prepared delicious food and cakes for you.
In addition to our meal of the day, "Weisswürste with pretzels", there will also be different kinds of grilled and vegetarian food.

Photo 1: Sports soldier Eva Senne during final preparations. She and her co-pilot Ben (competition registration "2AS") were one of only 6 competitors in the double-seater class yesterday who completed the task. They achieved an excellent 4th place for the day.

Photo 2: Open class pilot Ulrich Knauß ("Knolle") with co-pilot Brigitte Brünning. The self launching glider is an EB28, competition registration NX.

For today, meteorologist Jupp predicts partly good thermal conditions, however, humid air will enter our competition area from the southeast in the afternoon. This is expected to lead to spreading and a significant increase in humidity, which may affect the thermals. Base altitudes of up to 2000m above sea level are expected.

Day6

The tasks for all 5 classes head west / southwest. All pilots have to fly a traditional speed task between 300 and 400k today.

The 18m class will once again be the 1st class to take off. They have 344k on the task sheet:

The largest distance today will be flown by the Open class with 386k.

Good morning dear participants of the 55th Hahnweide competition and a very warm greeting to all fathers!!!!

Day6

After a very challenging day yesterday in all classes, we will repeat the same grid procedure again: 18m, 15m and standard class will line up on runway 31. The 2-seater class will wait in single file on the asphalt runway. And the Open Class may continue to have breakfast in peace. They will grid their gliders after take-off the 2-seater class.
