1st launch expected at 12 a.m.
Monday, 15. May 2023 - 10:39

The 1st launch for today will be expected at 12 a.m. The 15m class will take-off first, followed by the standard class. Finally, the 18m class, which is the largest of the competition with 29 participants.

2-seaters and Open class will have another rest day today.

For all 3 classes AATs are planned towards the Southwest of "Schwäbische Alb" and Black Forest. The tasks will be online HERE shortly.

Competitors are asked to keep the taxiway clear for the powered aircraft and not to park cars there.

The weather forecast looks interesting:

There is a lot of humidity in the air and the thermal conditions are very moderate. Nevertheless, the competition organisers would like to try everything to achieve a successful 1st competition day for at least three classes.

A sunny good morning to you all!
Monday, 15. May 2023 - 08:44

Good morning dear participants of the Hahnweide competition! After a wonderful sunny evening yesterday, the sky looks promising this morning. Will the weather god surprise us with a flyable competition day? We can be very curious!

Our meteorologist Jupp will probably be the most popular person at the airfield this morning.

Vintage glider over the Hahnweide
Sunday, 14. May 2023 - 17:42

After today was canceled for the competition, the sun appeared for a few hours. In addition to the takeoffs and landings of some modern competition gliders, the spectators could also marvel at two real old-timer rarities in the sky.

GÖ1 "Wolf" built in 1937.

GÖ4 III, built in 1952.

The vintage gliders are from the "Fliegenden Museeum Hahnweide" (FMH) located at the airfield.

The day cancelled for all classes
Sunday, 14. May 2023 - 12:12

Due to weather situation, today has been cancelled for all classes. Sport director Rainer Rauch sees no chance for a fair competition day.

We wish all participants a relaxing rest day.

Pictures say more than words. Have a look at the beautifully graphically presented weather forecast of our meteorologist Jupp:

Good morning everyone!

After it has rained until the morning hours, I would like to spare you the sad sight of the current weather situation.

Instead, here are a few motivating impressions of the HWW22 from my picture gallery.
